Gin was first made in the 17th Century in Holland Gin and was used as a medicine by the Chemist to treat Stomach Complaints.
To make it more drinkable the Dutch added Juniper to Gin which has medical properties of its own, hence begun the history or todays modern Gin.
Gin gained popularity earlier with the military troops in Europe as it had warming properties.
Due to its refreshing taste Gin in 1951 gained popularity and was one of the top 3 essential drinks on the list of home entertainment, by then it had more than 7000 cocktail recipes available.
